21 days Victoria falls to windhoek

NB: All accommodation have the following facilities as follows en-suite rooms , swimming pool, restaurant , bar , wifi  or similar range stated on the programe.

Day 1. Victoria Falls.

The tour start at Victoria Falls International Airport where you will be welcomed  by Tail Africa Tours representative then shuttled you to your accommodation . After checking in , followed by a pre-departure meeting of the tour.

Accommodation : Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel / Shearwater Explorers Village or similar.

Route : Victoria Falls international Airport to your accommodation .

Highlights included : Dinner cruise on the Zambezi river.

Day 2. Victoria Falls.

The bustling adventure city of Victoria Falls offers a wide range of optional activities for those wanting a dose of adrenaline. In the morning we tour  – The majestic Victoria Falls ( one of the seven wonders of the world).

Accommodation : Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel / Shearwater Explorers Village or similar.

Highlights included : The Falls Tour.

Optional activities : Flight over the Falls, rafting, gorge swing, zipline etc.

Day 3. Chobe National Park.

Chobe national park covers 1160 square kilometres , one of the largest concentrations of wild animals in Africa. It is named after the Chobe river which boundaries the northern side of the park.   Birding life , hippos and crocodiles inhabit the waterways is magnificent. 

Route : Victoria Falls to Chobe .

Accommodation: Kwalape Safari  Lodge / Two Rivers Hotel / Travelodge or similar.

Highlights included : Sunset boat cruise in the Chobe national park .

Day 4. Chobe National Park.

Vast herds of elephants and buffalo are found along the riverine feeding in the marshes. We have opportunity to game drive morning and afternoon boat cruise.

Accommodation : Kwalape  Safari  Lodge / Two Rivers Hotel /Travelodge or similar.

Highlights included  : Morning game drive and afternoon game drive .

Day 5. Makgadikgadi Salt Pans.

As we pass through the forest reserve which separate Chobe and Hwange national park we be  come across different game heading to the Makgadigadi Pans at Nata Bird Sanctuary to appreciate the spectacular view and sundowner.

Route : Kasane to Nata.

Accommodation : Nata Lodge / Planet Baobab Lodge or similar.

Highlights included : Makgadikgadi salt pan visit at Nata Bird Sanctuary.

Day 6. Maun.

Maun means a place of short by local tribe. It is a main gateway to the wilderness areas of sand and water of Botswana. Maun is the principal centre for Ngamiland , the home of the Tawana, Teti and Herero tribe. On this day its for getting ready for Okavango Delta and Moremi safari.

Route : Nata to Maun.

Accommodation : Sedia Hotel / Island Safaris Lodge or similar.

Highlights included : Scenic flight over the Okavango Delta for 45minutes.

Day 7. Okavango Delta.

The Okavango Delta is not only a natural wonder  ,  but represents one of the last unspoilt  wilderness area in the world today . The unique and unusual  ecosystem sees the annual flood waters of the Okavango  River fan out into the sands of the Kalahari Basin.  Early morning we transferred by a safari vehicle to poling station where we meet our polers who will be escorting us into the Delta , steer the traditional mokoro through the serene area of narrow , reed lined  channel  and nature walk.

Route : Maun to Delta

Accommodation : Camping in the Okavango Delta  .

Highlights  included : Mokoro trail and afternoon nature walk.

Day 8. Maun .

Route :Okavango Delta to Maun .

Accommodation : Sedia  Riverside Hotel / Island Safari Lodge.

Highlight included : morning nature walk and mokoro trail .

Day 9. Central Kalahari Desert.

Ghanzi means a place of flies . The area offers fine pasturage for cattle, nomadic pastoralist tribes moved into the region in prehistoric times and dug many wells there. This an opportunity to learn more about the San culture and interaction with their desert environment.

Route :  Maun to Ghanzi.

Accommodation  :  Tautona Lodge / Ghanzi Trailblazer Lodge or similar.

Highlights included : Bushman walk tour.

Day 10. Windhoek.

We entered the city of Windhoek , then do city tour as we walk around .

Route : Ghanzi to Windhoek .

Accommodation : Hotel Uhland / Protea Hotel by Marriott or similar.

Highlights included : City tour.

Day 11 . Etosha National Park.

Etosha national park is unique in Africa , characteristic is salt pan so large it can be seen from space. There is abundant wildlife that congregates around the waterholes , giving you almost guaranteed game sightings. It is the most accessible game reserves in Namibia and Southern Africa.

Route :  Windhoek to Namutoni  (Etosha).

Accommodation : Namutoni  NWR or outside park  similar.

Highlights included : Afternoon game drive.

Optional activities : Night game drive.

Day 12. Etosha National Park .

Etosha is the venue for some of the most unique game viewing experiences in Africa. We will spend more time at the many waterholes dotted throughout the park.

Route : Namutoni  to  Halali.

Accommodation : Halali  NWR or similar.

Highlights included : Full day game drive.

Optional activities : Night game drive, watching animals at waterhole.

Day 13. Etosha National Park.

We have a full day to explore the edges of the Etosha Pan in search of the abundant wildlife that occurs in the park.

Route : Halali  to Okaukuejo.

Accommodation :  Okaukuejo  NWR or outside the park similar.

Highlights included : Full day game drive.

Optional activities  : Night game drive. watching animals at waterhole.

Day 14. Kamanjab /Khorixas

Kamanjab is located in the edge of koakaland and Damarand which is the home semi- nomadic Himba tribe . The himba tribe are extremely susceptible to Western influence and dwindling number of pastoralists that still exist in their natural environment.

Route : Okaukuejo  to  Kamanjab

Accommodation : Oppi –Koppi  Rest Camp or similar/ Khorixas Restcamp  NWR or similar.

Highlights included : Himba culture village tour.

Day 15. Twyfelfontein / Branderg

Twyfelfontein means doubtfull fountain .  Its one the World Heritage Site , the world famous collection of rock engravings. The position of the engraving indicates by arrows in the rocks of a steeply sloping rivene. We have time to enjoy the rock engravings , burnt mountain , organ pipes and petrified forest.

Route : Opuwo  to Twyfelfontein.

Accommodation : Twyfelfontein Country Lodge / Branderg White Lady Lodge or similar.

Highlights included : Petrified forest, organ pipes, burnt mountains and Twyfelfontein world heritage site (home of rock paintings and engravings in the world).

Day 16 . Swakopmund.

En-route we are able to the 2 highest peaks mountains in Namibia which are Branderg and Spitzkoppe. Then as we driving into Swakopmund we do a tour around .

Route : Twyfelfontein  to  Swakopmund.

Accommodation :   Beach Lodge / Prost Hotel or similar.

Highlights included : City tour .

Optional activities : Scenic flights, township tour etc.

Day 17 Swakopmund.

In the morning we meet our desert local expert who will took us to the sand dunes around Swakopmund for a half day Living Desert Tour.

Accommodation :  Beach Lodge / Prost Hotel or similar.

Highlights included : The Living Desert Tour half day.

Optional activities : Sky diving, quadbike, etc.

Day 18. Sesrium.

We depart Walvis Bay heading to the desert . In the way they will a nice moon landscape view plus we stop to mark our crossing of the Tropic of Capricorn.

Route : Swakopmund to Sesrium.

Accommodation : Desert Hills Lodge / Wekebi  Safari Lodge or similar.

Highlights included : Moon land scape view, tropical of capricon, flamingos at Walvis Bay.

Day 19. Sossusvlei.

A briskclimb up Dune 45 , this landmark dune offers the perfect vantage point to marvel at the endless sea of red sand. Then 4×4 transfer into Sossuslvei , where we spend time on foot visiting the pans at Sossusvlei and Deadvlei . Then we visit the Sesriem canyon.

Route : Sesrium to Sossusvlei.

Accommodation : Desert Hills Lodge / Wekebi Safari Lodge or similar.

Highlights included : Dune 45, Sossusvlei , Deadvlei , Sesrium canyon.

Day 20. Windhoek.

We drove out of the desert back to Windhoek to mark the end of the tour.

Route : Sesrium to Windheok.

Accommodation : Hotel Uhland /Protea Hotel by Marriott or similar.

Highlights included : Scenic route passing mountains.

Day 21. Flying out .

Tour end in the morning at the airport.
