Hwange & botswana wildlife

Day 1 . Hwange National Park.

Hwange national park is the largest park in Zimbabwe occupying 14600 square kilometers  of sandy soils , grasslands , acacia woodlands and teak forests . It lies in the northwest of the country .

Route : Victoria Falls to Hwange national park–3hours—200km.

Accommodation : Hwange Safari Lodge / Miombo  Safari Camp or similar.

Highlights included : Painted dogs conservations project .

 

Day 2 . Hwange National Park.

It is known for one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa , especially elephant and buffalo , and for its year-round wildlife viewing. Hwange national park has natural , man made pumped waterholes and numerous pans which makes it easier to see varsity of game .

Accommodation : Hwange Safari Lodge / Miombo Safari Camp or similar.

Highlights included : Full day game drive.

 

Day 3 . Victoria Falls .

Is also known as Mosi-oa-Tunya which means  “ The Smoke That Thunders “ in local Tonga language , highlighting the powefull mist and noise created by the falls . The mist from the falls creates a unique microclimate , supporting a rainforest ecosystem on the surrounding cliffs

Route : Hwange to Victoria Falls—3hours—200km.

Accommodation : Shearwater Explorers Village / Drifters inn / Bayete Lodge or similar.

Highlights included : Nambya culture village tour and dinner cruise.

 

Day 4 . Victoria Falls.

It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered one of the largest and most famous waterfall system in the world . The area around Victoria Falls is known for various adrenaline activities such as bungee jumping , white-water rafting and many more.

Accommodation : Shearwater Explorers Village / Drifters inn / Bayete Lodge or similar.

Highlights included : Guided tour of the Falls. 

 

Day 5  . Chobe National Park.

Chobe national park is renowned for its high population of migratory elephants . Sunset boat cruise is one of the most not miss activity in Chobe national park since it has got a say to your safari .  Chobe river provides a very broad habitat for bird life and it is possible to see many beautiful species.

 Route : Victoria Falls to  Kasane—2hours—90km.

Accommodation : Kwalape Safari Lodge / Two Rivers Hotel / Travelodge or similar.

Highlights included : Sunset boat cruise.

 

Day 6 . Chobe National Park .

Experience abundant of wildlife in the Chobe national park . Africa largest concentration of elephants , buffalos , impalas , legendary fish eagle and more bird life along the river . As we continue searching for wildlife by doing morning and afternoon game drives will meander along the banks of the Chobe river.

Day 7 . Makgadikgadi Salt Pan.

 The largest salt pans  in the world and display a unique expanse of landscape with fascinating natural scenic beauty with expanse of flat white baked featureless surface . Its covers 30 000 square kilometers total area .We get to the northern Makgadikgadi Pans at Nata Bird Sanctuary to appreciate the spectacular view of the salt pans and sundowner.

Route : Kasane to Nata—4hours—320km.

Highlights included : Pan drive at Makgadikgadi salt pan.

 

Day 8 . Okavango Delta .

 The unique and unusual ecosystem sees the annual flood waters of the Okavango river fans out into the sands of the Kalahari Basin. We will have opportunity to enjoy traditional mokoro ride and nature walks.

 

Route : Nata to Okavango Delta—6hours—350km.

Accommodation : Bush Camp.

Day  9 . Maun.

Maun is the gateway to the wilderness areas of sand and waters of Botswana ( Okavango Delta , Moremi and Kalahari ). It is the administrative centre of Ngamiland district and the seat of power of the Batawana people.

Route : Okavango Delta to Maun –2hours—30km.

Accommodation : Sedia Riverside Hotel /Island Safari Lodge or similar.

Highlights included : Nature walks and mokoro ride. 

 

Day 10 . Elephant Sands.

The Okavango Delta is the world’s largest inland delta. The Okavango river has no outlet to the sea , so it empties into the sands of the Kalahari desert, irrigating some 1600km’2. This is a truly spectacular and unforgettable experience where wild animals are not familiar with people . This is a true wilderness area where both animals and people co-exist.

Route : Maun to Nata—5hours—380km.

Accommodation : Elephant Sands or similar.

Highlights included : Game drive.

 

Day 11 . Victoria Falls.

Victoria Falls serves as a natural border between Zambia and Zimbabwe , with approximately two-thirds of the falls located in Zimbabwe.

Route : Nata to Victoria Falls—5hours—350km.

Accommodation : Own arrangements.
